St. Augustine salutes our medical professionals
(Past, Present and Future)
The theme for Black History Month 2022 was Black Health and Wellness, as stated in the Association for the Study of African American Life and History executive summary for this year. St. Augustine Catholic Church parishioners (also children and grandchildren) have done much to advance the health and wellness of our communities.
During this time of Covid-19, opioid abuse, malnutrition, mental and social ills, the health and wellness of our communities is of utmost importance.
This post acknowledges and highlights the St. Augustine trailblazers who may or may not be famous but offer their love, knowledge, skills and abilities in health and wellness fields of endeavor for the advancement and care of all humankind.
Please share the following information with our youth and young people with the hopes that they might learn from and be inspired by what our ancestors have taught us in hopes of furthering their future endeavors and serving others.
Support and ancillary functions in Black Health and Wellness are too numerous to include but we thank all those who lend their expertise in those areas as well.
For errors and/or omissions, please call the church office or email the webmaster at [email protected].

November is National Black Catholic History Month
On July 24, 1990 the National Back Catholic Clergy Caucus of the United States designated November as Black Catholic History Month to celebrate the long history and proud heritage of Black Catholics. It also marks a time to share in remembrance, the saints and souls of Africa and the African Diaspora.
