Third Sunday of Advent
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Priests will be available for Advent Confessions on Wednesday, December 18 at 1:30pm
The St. Augustine Angel Tree Project is in the narthex, and we would like all gifts for our angels returned to the church office as soon as possible. Distribution of all gifts will be made before Christmas. If you have the time, we need volunteers who will help with distribution of all the gifts on December 21st. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Enid Walton, Monte Flowers, or any member of the Social Action Committee. Remember, to always share generously with others.
St. Augustine Youth will be performing a Christmas play, The Birth of Christ, on Christmas Eve during the 4 o’clock mass. Rehearsals are scheduled Saturday, Dec. 21st, at noon. For more information contact Audrey Conley or Annye Hughes. Please bring your youth out to participate!
The Mass times for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are as follows:
Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24th at 4:00pm and 7:00pm. Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25th at 8:00am and 10:00am.
Adult Faith Formation and other Parish Religious Education classes have begun. Adult Faith Formation is a part of the PRE. It is open to all the members of our parish. Like other classes it begins 9:30 a.m and ends at 10:30 am in the Savare Room.

Monetary donations to St. Vincent de Paul can be placed in the receptacle in the Narthex.
Cash or checks payable to: St. Vincent de Paul St. Augustine Conference are acceptable.
The Annual Bishops Appeal has a new name and will be hereafter known as the
Annual Catholic Appeal. Please prayerfully complete your pledges or make donations.

Dinner and a movie will resume on Wednesday, January 8 at 6pm

The Men's Thursday night Bible Study will resume Thursday, January 9, 2020.
Please mark your calendars for a fabulous event entitled "St. Augustine Music Ministry: The Root of Our Praise" on January 12, 2020. This event is a reunion for all past St. Augustine Choirs from the past to the present. If you or someone you know is a former member of the Challenge, Youth, Hymnal or any past choir, please have them contact Sheila Branch or Carla Wells.
All visitors are invited to come to the gym/fellowship hall following Mass for complimentary refreshments.
There will be a trip to Branson, Missouri by Motor Coach which will aid in replenishing our 21st Century Fund. The trip is scheduled for March 26th until March 28th. Contact Laura Mayfield or Shug Williams for more information.
Condolences
Dr. Kenneth Wharton, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2019 in Memphis, Tennessee. He is the brother of A C Wharton, Jr.; the brother-in-law to Ruby R. Wharton, and the uncle to A C Wharton, III, Andre Wharton, Alexander Wharton, Tavarski Hughes, Daniel Whitlow, and Monte Flowers. A Memorial Service for Dr. Kenneth Wharton
took place on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 in Lebanon, TN. |
