Greetings Parishioners,
My name is Verna Ivy Green. I have been a member of Saint Augustine Catholic Church since 1960 and a choir member for over 50 years. I need your help. I am in end stage renal(kidney) failure, and I need a kidney transplant to continue to have quality of life. My kidneys were damaged by an inherited Polycystic kidney disease. I am on peritoneal dialysis, which is home dialysis done 8 hours a day, seven days a week. I have been on the deceased donor list at James D. Eason Transplant Institute in Memphis for over a year, and I am currently being screened for the Vanderbilt transplant Institute in Nashville TN. On the deceased donor list, the average wait time is 5 to 7 years. I am now 71 years old. My other option is to be blessed with a kidney from a living donor. Will you think about becoming my living donor? Perhaps you know someone that might be interested. If so, please contact the Living Donor transplant department at James D. Eason Transplant Institute. That number is 901 478-8466 and of course mention my name. They will give you all the information needed to start the screening to determine if you are a match for me. The information you share with them is kept confidential.
Please pass this information out to your family and friends. The more this message is seen, the better my chance is to receive a kidney transplant. Consider this chance to save a life.
Thank you, much needed prayers.
